This large (10 1/2″ tall) globular onion bottle, is mid-18th century, and probably from England. This is an unusual form, and of the “magnum” size… it certainly has a strong presence! Medium yellowish olive green in color, applied globby lip with a string lip under, and a pontil base. There is a small chip under the lip edge, and there is a little haze, but the surface of this 250+ year old bottle is wonderful! This is a rare beauty in excellent condition!
