Early American Sunburst flask, 1820-30s, probably Coventry, CT. A fine example of this classic early flask! It is suggested that the Sunburst flasks were the first figural historical flasks made in America. This one is a 1/2 pint, but slightly larger than most 1/2 pint flasks. The color, condition, and impression are top notch! The corrugated ribs are crisp, as is the sunburst rays, and rings around the neck (usually a good indicator of embossing strength of this mold). Fantastic piece!! Ex. Ciralli collection.
